Huakaʻi Project is a Catholic young adult initiative created to accompany people through meaningful seasons of spiritual growth, service, and community life.
The word “Huakaʻi” reflects the idea of a journey — one that is not walked alone. At the heart of this project is the belief that young adults are seeking more than information. They are seeking belonging, purpose, guidance, and opportunities to live their faith in real and transformative ways.
Our Background
Why Huakaʻi Was Created
Many young adults today are navigating questions of identity, purpose, faith, vocation, belonging, and responsibility in a rapidly changing world. At the same time, many are longing for deeper connection — with God, with others, and with communities that make faith feel lived and relevant.
Huakaʻi Project was created in response to that longing.
Rather than offering only programs or information, Huakaʻi seeks to offer accompaniment — a way of walking with young adults as they explore faith, serve others, reflect deeply, and discover how God may be calling them forward.

The Values That Guide Us
Accompaniment
We believe people grow best when they are not walking alone. Huakaʻi is built around presence, listening, encouragement, and shared journey.
Faith in Action
Faith is not only something we believe — it is something we live. Service, compassion, and responsibility are essential parts of the journey.
Authentic Community
We create spaces where people can be honest, supported, welcomed, and encouraged as they grow.
Ongoing Formation
Growth takes time. We value intentional learning, reflection, and spiritual development that continues beyond one event or season.
